Tumbling is a process where fabricated parts that are not yet completely finished are placed in a container or drum and rolled and/or vibrated against one another for the purpose of polishing and smoothing. Usually the container also has in it some sort of abrasive or polishing solution or media.
Deburring is akin to tumbling in that it involves the use of abrasives to remove things such as jagged edges, and burrs (sharp edged notches) that may have been created during production and engineering. Techniques such as grinding, brushing, chemical, and electrochemical compounds are used to achieve this objective.
EcoQuest Metal can provide deburring and cleaning of metal parts using various cleaning media in our "Tumbling" department. Contact our staff representatives for a full description of this process and its capabilities.
